The AI Rush and SIMA360 Are Now Live

Today two things I've been building for a long time are officially live: my book, The AI Rush — Too Much Too Soon!, and SIMA360™, the framework that puts the book's ideas to work.
Why the book exists
Most businesses judge their AI progress by activity: how many tools are in use, how many projects are running, how many people have been trained. That's the wrong measure. Activity doesn't produce capability, and capability doesn't produce maturity.
Whether AI produces reliable outcomes depends on the conditions around it: the decisions it's meant to improve, the rules that govern it, the data it runs on, the people who direct it and the systems that carry it. Most businesses have real gaps in those conditions, no matter how much AI they've deployed.
The book calls this the maturity gap. It explains why the gap exists, how to diagnose it across five perspectives (Strategy, Governance, Data, People and Technology), and how to close it through disciplined improvement cycles.
What SIMA360 adds
A book can give you the ideas. A business also needs a way to apply them. SIMA360 takes the book's five perspectives, its six maturity levels and its improvement method, and turns them into tools you can use:
- SIMA-Probe™, an assessment that looks at how your decisions actually hold up, not what's written in a policy.
- The maturity levels, a description of what each level looks like in each perspective, so you can see where you stand and what comes next.
- The five perspectives, each explained in terms of the question it answers about whether AI can be trusted to influence a decision.
Where to start
The free assessment is open now. It covers the Strategy perspective: fifteen questions, about five to seven minutes, with Signals on where your constraint may lie. Strategy comes first because it's where AI decisions start. If you can't name the decision AI is supposed to improve, nothing else can be measured against it.
The Full Assessment, covering all five perspectives, launches in November. You can join the waitlist to hear when it opens.
If you've felt the pressure to move fast on AI and wondered whether your business was ready for it, that's exactly the question both the book and SIMA360 were built to answer.
